There is allot of exciting changes coming to the program. It will be killer! I am redoing all of the backing trax to make them sound better as well as to make them more user friendly. I have also added a dropp tuning section that was not in the book. I will be filming the project in august and hope to have it edited and available by 10/1. That is the goal.

Metal Method is the leader in media guitar lessons since 1982 and features founder Doug Marks and shredder Michael Angelo Batio. With the success of my book Monster Power Chords Doug has presented me with a great opportunity to do my own DVD series on lead guitar. I will be filming the first installment of this series this fall. The finished product should be ready to release sometime in October 2010. Keep checking Metal Method for updates!

The 1st installment takes an in-depth look at chord tones, arpeggios, and how to use them while playing lead guitar. This will take the average guitarist that regurgitates the same ol’ pentatonic riffs over and over to higher level of understanding and creativity.

I look forward to filming this with Doug at the end of this month and think it will be a top notch addition to the best rock guitar DVD insruction available.

It outlines the Tonic (I) and Dominant (V) arpeggios to start and then visits the secondary dominant C7 (V7/IV) leading to the Subdominant (IV), changing in mode to (iv), and finally cadencing I-V-I. This is a great workout for the pinky and in understanding fundamental harmony linked as arpeggios.

Get out of the Pentatonic rut Learning to play lead guitar, for most guitarists, begins with the minor pentatonic scale. The shape is easy to play, our index finger can stay in the same fret, and mostly, it never seems to sound bad. But there comes a point for every guitarist that they realize the pentatonic scale is a dead end. You wind up stuck in a box, regurgitating the same riffs over and over with no regard for the chords you are playing over. More
